How to Enable and Use Receipt Notes on POS Express

Introduction

The Receipt Notes feature in POS Express allows businesses to include customized notes on receipts, enhancing customer communication and providing additional transaction details. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on enabling Receipt Notes within BLogic View and utilizing them effectively on POS Express.

A. Configuring Receipt Notes in BLogic View

To enable and manage Receipt Notes, follow these steps:

1. Log in to BLogic View

  • Access your administrator account with the necessary permissions.

2. Navigate to POS Express Settings

  • From the main dashboard, select the POS Express menu.
  • Click on Configurations to access system settings.

3. Enable Receipt Notes

  • Locate the Receipt Notes tab within the Configurations page.
  • Toggle the Enable Receipt Notes option to activate the feature.

4. Manage Pre-set Notes

  • In the Pre-set Notes section, users can create and manage predefined receipt notes.
  • To add a new note, click on Add New, enter the note content, and save it.
  • These predefined notes will be available for selection at the time of receipt generation.

B. Utilizing Receipt Notes on POS Express

Overview

Starting from version 10.5, the Receipt Notes option is now available on POS Express. To enable or disable the notes display, you need to update the configuration by retrieving parameters from Settings.

1. Updating System Configuration

1.1 Option 1: Global Parameter Update

  1. Navigate to Settings on POS Express.
  2. Select Get All Parameters to synchronize all configuration settings, including Receipt Notes.

1.2 Option 2: Receipt Notes-Specific Update

You can enable Receipt Notes directly from the POS Express App without needing to configure it in BLogic View.

  1. Navigate to Settings on POS Express.
  2. Scroll down and select the Receipt Notes option.
  3. Click the Get Parameters button to retrieve only the settings related to Receipt Notes from BLogic View.

Enabling Receipt Notes

  • Below the Get Parameters button, there is a toggle labeled Enable Receipt Notes.
  • This toggle controls the local setting for Receipt Notes.
  • When enabled, a list of predefined notes will appear, allowing for better visibility and selection.

2. Process a Sale

  • Initiate and proceed with a sale transaction as usual.

3. Adding Receipt Notes Before Printing

  • At the Continue & Print Receipt step, if the Receipt Notes feature is enabled, a dedicated Receipt Notes screen will appear.
  • Users can enter a custom note in the text input field or select from the predefined notes.
  • Once a note is selected or entered, click Done to confirm and proceed.

*Another way to add Receipt Notes is directly from the Sales screen. Follow these steps:

  1. On the Sales screen, locate the three-line menu (☰).
  2. Tap the menu and select Receipt Notes from the available options.
  3. Enter a custom note or choose a preset note from the list.
  4. Tap Done to save the note.

By following these steps, you can add notes directly on the Sales screen. If you add a note this way, the system will not prompt you to input a note again when you continue the transaction.

4. Printing the Receipt

  • The selected or entered note will be included on the printed receipt, ensuring customers receive relevant transaction details.
