Introduction
Adjusting a tip manually on a Point of Sale (POS) system is a straightforward process that allows you to modify tip amounts for transactions as needed. Whether you need to correct an error or update a tip based on customer feedback, this guide will walk you through the steps to ensure the adjustment is completed accurately and efficiently. This article is designed for users who have access to the batch manager feature and need to locate and modify specific transactions within the system.
Steps to Adjust the Tip Manually
- Access Batch Manager
Begin by navigating to the Batch Manager section of your POS system. Click on the “Batch Manager” option from the main menu to open the transaction overview.

2. View Paid Transactions
Once in Batch Manager, you’ll see a list of transactions that have been processed and paid. This list provides details such as transaction ID,… depending on your system’s configuration.

3. Locate the Transaction to Adjust
Find the specific transaction that requires a tip adjustment. You can scroll through the list or use the search function by entering relevant details (e.g., transaction ID, approval #, last 4 # of credit card # or amount) into the input field to quickly locate it.
4. Check the Tip Column
Once you’ve found the transaction, look at the “Tip” column to review the current tip amount recorded for that transaction. This will help you confirm whether an adjustment is necessary.
5. Open the Adjust Tip Dialog

Select the transaction and click on the “Tip” column in the transaction row to adjust the tip (a button). This action will display the “Adjust Tip” dialog box on your screen.
6. Enter the New Tip Amount
In the dialog box, input the updated tip amount that needs to be applied to the transaction. Double-check the entered value to ensure accuracy.
7. Confirm and Save the Adjustment
After entering the new tip amount, click “OK” to apply the adjustment. A confirmation dialog will appear, prompting you to select “Yes” to proceed with the change or “No” to cancel. If you select “Yes,” the system will process the change, and the transaction will now reflect the updated tip amount successfully.
