Add POS Workstation Assignment to Prep Label Printer Configuration

Introduction

This guide explains how to assign POS Workstations to specific prep label printers in the POS Dashboard. This allows better control over which POS Workstations can send print commands to each label printer.

1. Accessing Prep Label Printer Settings

  • Go to the POS Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Settings > Prep Label Printers.

2. Assigning POS Workstations

  • Click to add or edit a prep label printer.
  • In the new “Assign POS Workstation” column, select one or more POS Workstations from the dropdown list.
  • The dropdown automatically shows newly connected POS Workstations without needing to reload the page.

3. How the Assignment Works

  • If no workstation is assigned, all POS Workstations can send print commands (default behavior).
  • If one or more workstations are assigned, only those selected devices can send label print commands.

4. Saving and Behavior

  • After selecting the devices -> autosave.
  • The system stores the assigned POS Workstations in the database.
  • When a label print is requested:
    • If the request comes from an assigned device, the label will be printed.
    • If the request comes from a non-assigned device, the print request will be ignored.

Q: What happens if I don’t assign any POS Workstations?
A: The system will allow all POS devices to send label print commands, preserving the original behavior.
