How to Hide the Custom Tip Button on POS and QOrder Tip Screens

1. Configure the Hide Custom Tip Option

To hide the Custom Tip button, you need to enable the setting in the POS Dashboard.

Step 1: Open POS Dashboard

Log in to your POS Dashboard using your admin account.


Step 2: Navigate to Tip Configuration

Go to:

Settings → Configurations → Tips


Step 3: Find the Optional Settings

Locate the option:

Hide Custom Tip button on Tip screen


Step 4: Enable the Option

  • Check the box to hide the Custom Tip button
  • Click Save to apply the change

⚠️ Important:
The default value for this option is Unchecked, meaning the Custom Tip button will be visible unless you enable this setting.

Step 5: Restart the POS

Restart the POS workstation to apply the new configuration.

After restarting, the Custom Tip button will be hidden on the Tip screen according to the setting.

For QOrder

  1. After saving the configuration in POS Dashboard, open the QOrder device.
  2. Tap the Get Menu button.
  3. QOrder will update the latest configuration from the server.
  4. The Custom Tip button will be hidden according to the new setting.

2. How the Setting Affects the POS Tip Screen

Once the setting is enabled, the Custom Tip button will no longer appear during the checkout process.

This applies to both POS Tip screens.

What the cashier/customer will see:

  • Tip percentage buttons (for example: 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%) remain visible
  • No Tip button remains visible
  • Custom Tip button will be hidden
  • When the Hide Custom Tip button on the Tip screen option is unchecked, the system will display the previous default behavior.

ℹ️ Note:
This change only affects the display of the button. It does not change how tips are calculated.


3. How the Setting Affects QOrder

When customers place an order through QOrder, the Tip selection step will follow the same rule.

If the setting is enabled:

  • The Custom Tip option will not appear
  • Customers can only select from the available tip percentage options

1. Why can’t I see the “Hide Custom Tip” option in the Dashboard?

This option may not appear if:

  • Your system version does not support this feature

Contact your system administrator or Support for assistance.


2. Will this setting remove tip options completely?

No.
This setting only hides the Custom Tip button.

Customers and staff can still select from the preset tip percentages or choose No Tip.


3. Does this change how tips are calculated?

No.
The system will continue to calculate tips the same way.
This option only affects the visibility of the Custom Tip button.


4. Does this setting apply to all ordering channels?

Yes.
Once enabled, the setting applies to:

  • POS
  • QOrder

5. Do I need to restart POS after enabling this option?

Yes. You should restart the POS workstation to apply the new configuration.
After restarting, the updated setting will take effect on the Tip screen.
